I feel like everyone has a guilty pleasure musical that they secretly enjoy and mine is Redwood. AKA the Idina Menzel tree musical. It closed early on Broadway and yes, you've guessed it, Idina Menzel climbs some trees. I'm genuinely begging you to google images of the set, it's so absurdly funny. It's one of those musicals that's so weird, I can't help but love it in a weird way. The songs aren't particularly showstopping either, but lesbian Idina Menzel dealing with her grief by climbing redwood trees and singing on stage in a harness and hard hat... what's not to like???

My secret theory is that she missed playing Elphaba so found another excuse to wear a harness and swing about the stage. I genuinely would do drastic things for a bootleg... I'm still hunting.
