Welcome to J Rates Musicals!

Hello!

I've been a long-time musical lover but have always wanted to expand my horizons outside of the 10 or so I regularly listen to. I made spreadsheets, lists and plans but they never came to fruition – I'd spend months making the fun graphics or tables, but never actually reach the point of listening... After a few years of this, I had enough.

In January of this year, I decided to fully go for it and JUST START! Within a week, I started posting on TikTok and Tumblr to document my progress in trying to listen to as many musicals as I can in 365 days. After 5 months, I have listned to almost 250 cast recordings of musicals and I couldn't be more proud of myself!

My list is evergrowing and extremely long so I know there's still lots ahead (plus all my requests) but it's such a fun hobby and a great way to spend my time. I started creating a website to collate my reviews a few months ago on WIX but it wasn't really clicking. After remembering neocities exists, I thought why not throw myself into web development! So here's my little site with all my reviews of every musical I've listened to (2026 and previous)!
