all shook up

I had no idea All Shook Up was an Elvis jukebox musical until I listened to it - a weird surprise! I'm not the greatest Elvis fan, though was familiar with quite a few of the songs from existing in the cultural zeitgeist. Cheyenne Jackson was great as Chad and the plot was good - better than I was expecting for an Elvis musical. I definitely think adapting the plot from a play was a better decision than going the biopic route. Some good renditions of the songs here, however, a few of them, I'd prefer Elvis.

Sticking to my hypothesis, the songs I enjoy more out of Jukebox musicals are ones I've never heard of before, so it doesn't take me out of the show by thinking "this is an Elvis song" - I'm just enjoying the song detached from it. Elvis fans get on this - it's a fun time and not the worst Jukebox musical.
